Grade 8 Information β 2026
Warm Windsor greetings. We have the pleasure in welcoming you and your child/ward to the Windsor Secondary School family. Please note the following points of information.
- SCHOOL TIMES: Monday β Thursday 07:30 β 14:30; Friday 07:30 β 12:30. Please ensure your child/ward is on time for school.
- UNIFORM: Your child/ward is required to have a blazer as part of the school uniform. This may be purchased from FILCON SCHOOLWEAR, the official supplier of our school uniform.
- TEXTBOOKS & STATIONERY: Enclosed is a copy of the stationery requirements for Grade 8 learners. Textbooks will be provided by the school. Ensure your child/ward has all required stationery from day one.
- DISCIPLINE: The school's Code of Conduct is attached to this document and will be applied in disciplinary matters.
- SCHOOL FEES: The compulsory school fees for 2025 were R2,500 per learner per annum and may increase in 2026 to R2,800.00. Payment must be made via bank deposit or EFT (no cash). Proof of payment must be submitted to the school; use the correct reference details.
- REAM OF PAPER: Learners are required to provide 2 reams of paper to the school: one at the start of the school year and one at the start of the 3rd term.

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR LEARNERS β DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURES
- KZN Circular No.33 of 2007 has reference.
- Education Laws Amendment Act no.24 of 2005 (Government Gazette No.28426 dated 26 January 2006) and Section 9 of the South African Schools Act No.84 of 1996 (suspension/expulsion) are referenced.
- Principals and School Governing Bodies are advised to review learners' Code of Conduct in line with the amendment.
- This circular is part of the Code of Conduct and deals specifically with disciplinary issues.
Level 1 Misconduct
These are regarded as minor and include:
- Failure to be in class on time
- Bunking classes
- Failing to complete homework
- Failing to respond to reasonable instructions
- Being dishonest with minor consequences
- Littering
- Shouting in class
- Minor vulgarity
- Failing to respond to a relief educator
- Not following instructions
- Loitering in the toilets
- Leaving class without permission
- Late for school β punctuality
- Minor uniform infringements
- Hair β all infringements
- Carrying cell phones to school (reasons why cell phones are not allowed at school)
School Rules
To ensure Windsor Secondary School remains safe, respectful, and focused on learning, all learners must follow these rules:
- Wear a complete, neat school uniform every day.
- Be punctual and attend school regularly.
- Follow all educator instructions and complete homework on time.
- Do not leave class or school premises without permission.
- No bullying, violence, intimidation, or foul language.
- Protect school property and do not vandalise any equipment or buildings.
- Do not bring cell phones, games, radios, or valuable items unless approved.
- No smoking, alcohol, drugs, weapons, or pornographic material on school grounds.
- Keep the school clean and do not sell goods or services on school premises.

Dress Code β Boys and Girls
Learners must follow the monthly dress code. Key uniforms include:
- JanuaryβMarch: Grey pants, WSS white short sleeve shirt, white vest, black belt, short grey socks, black leather school shoes, WSS blazer optional; girls may wear WSS grey pants, WSS white short sleeve shirt, white/black/nude underwear, white anklet socks, black leather school shoes, white/black/maroon/grey hair bands, stud earrings, and WSS blazer optional.
- April & September: Same as summer uniform, plus WSS half jersey and WSS blazer.
- MayβAugust: Grey pants, WSS white long sleeve shirt, WSS tie, white long sleeve vest or Spencer, long grey socks, black leather school shoes, WSS long sleeve jersey, WSS blazer or jacket, and cold-weather accessories as required.
- OctoberβDecember: Summer uniform returns with WSS blazer optional.

Stationery Requirements

Uniform Misconduct
The following acts will be considered a form of misconduct:
- Shortened and narrowed school pants for both boys and girls
- Suede Shoes
- Hair colour/Dye/Polish
- More than one set of earrings for girls
- Nose ring
- Rings, Bracelets, Neck chains worn
- Long Nails
- Nail with nail polish
- Lip Gloss, Lipstick, Eye liner, Mascara and any other make-up worn
- Colour contact lenses
- Fancy beads and silver rings in hair
- Fancy headbands and hair accessories
- Bandanas worn
- Secret socks
- Caps and sun hats worn
- Decorative shaved patterns on hair
- Long sleeve vest worn under short sleeve shirt
- Loop earrings
- HAIR PIECES AND EXTENSIONS
NB: Learners MUST be attired according to the monthly prescribed uniform ONLY. No deviations will be allowed.
